From the National Championship of Bagpipes to the Welsh opening party, in Breizh the heat is fought with music.
Anyone who thinks that the suffocating heat wave that drowns all of Europe changes the plans of the Interceltic Festival of An Orient is very mistaken.
Today the main program was opened with the Championnat National des Bagadoù (National Championship of Pipe Bands) in its first and second categories in the Moustoir Stadium, followed by the show Celtic Music and Dance.
However, the XXXIII Mac Crimmon was being held in the Palace of Congresses at the same time for bagpipe soloists, where the Asturian Javier Menéndez rose as winner in his category.
However, anyone who wants to sleep is going to have a hard time, given that two impressive parties will take place: at 9:00 p.m., Wales will bring out their best sounds for the Opening Night at the An Oriant Theater, with traditional poetry readings, choral samples by Only Boys Aloud and harps with Robin Huw Bowen & Ty Teires among many other artists.
On the other hand, at 22:00 the Acadian Delegation will put its biggest bet at the Espace Marine with a great visual and musical development by Vishtèn, SOLO and Le Vent du Nord et De Temps Antan.
Besides the Asturian Pavilion (organized by Jesus Adrian Rodriguez Alvarez with the support of the Asturian Tourism Office), offersa very packed schedule of performances, always alongside with plenty of the best cider to enjoy.
The question is to decide where to go, because with such options the difficult thing will be how to have a blank night.
