Today and tomorrow will take place in Güerres, Colunga, the VI Sea Urchin Feast, stating that nobody would dare to compare urchin with croquettes, although there will be sea urchin croquettes to please the most “refined ones”.
LA SIDRA.- Güerres is once again the Asturian sea urchin capital oriciera in this sixth edition that takes place today and from 11 o’clock in the morning. Then there will beserved raw sea urchins, cooked ones, sea urchins tortilla, sea urchin croquettes, boroña… With popular prices: dish of sea urchins and cider bottle for 14 €.
In the afternoon, since 19:30, the mythical Viri, from Viri Cider Mill, will give cooking classes, and at 9 pm will be the awards of the Sea Urchin of Honor to the paralympic medalist Alberto Suárez Laso. The Sea Urchin of Honor is a sculpture by Kiko Urrusti.
For Sunday there is again sea urchin time from 11 in the morning to go on… this year’s goal is to reach the two tons served.

Apart of it the Interpretation Centre Sierra del Sueve will organize didactic excursions to the rocky coast of Güerres about the sea urchin harvesting, being able to make iscripciones in http://sierradelsueve.es. The schedule for these excursions will be Saturday at 9 and Sunday at 10 in the morning in both cases, as the tide rules.
There will also be time to support a good cause at this gastronomic-party weekend of Güerres, in the bar there will be a little fund for fundraising for the recovery of the sixteenth century chapel that is being rehabilitated in Güerrres, Capiella Santa Catuxa of Alexandria .
