THE SIDRA.- The Minister of Rural Development and Natural Resources, María Jesús Álvarez, and the Minister of Employment, Industry and Tourism, Isaac Pola, presented this morning the campaign of the Asturian Cider Culture to the list of Intangible Heritage of Humanity of Unesco, within the framework of the Fitur International Tourism Fair 2019.
Also attending are the General Director of Rural Development and Agrifood, María Jesús Aguilar; the general director of Cultural Heritage, Otilia Requejo, and the managing director of the Public Administration and Tourist Promotion and Cultural Society of the Principality, Alejandro Calvo.
Isaac Pola has endorsed his “support decided to the candidacy”, which entails, he said, a large representation and displays of support that “well deserves as it assumes this land.” “Not only in economic aspects, but also, as a positive cultural marker. It is one of our flags when it comes to projecting the image of our gastronomy, of our ‘Destination Asturies’ and that undoubtedly also has an important tourist value framed within a gastronomic product, but that constitutes another icon of’ Asturies Natural Paradise ‘”Added the counselor.
On the other hand, María Jesús Álvarez has said: “We want to launch several initiatives, looking for ambassadors in all Asturies councils and also outside our Community, also in all the Asturian Centers and in all those entities or institutions that want to collaborate with we. Ambassadors who will seek support through different actions such as the management of a book of signatures, who will look for sponsors to link their professional activities, their catering or commercial businesses; and distributing badges throughout our Autonomous Community. Also, through a web page where you can collect support, and, of course, incorporating the participation of all those who feel involved in it, who want to spread it, who want to explain to the world what is the Culture Sidrera Asturina and what it means for each one of them. It is very important this support embodied in stories in the first person, in particular biographies, part of this wealth of emotion that encloses the candidacy “.
