Xmas cider punch

A comforting drink to leave the cold behind.

LA SIDRA.- There is nothing better in these winter days than a hot beverage made of cider and spices to share with family and friends. The famous cook Jamie Oliver recommends us a simple and tasty recipe to prepare mulled cider.

– 2 litres traditional cider
– 6 cloves
– 3-4 star anise
– ¼ nutmeg, finely grated
– 1 cinnamon stick
– 1 vanilla pod, halved
– juice of 1 orange
– juice of 2 clementines
– juice and seeds of 1 pomegranate
– 4-5 tablespoons caster sugar

Pour the cider into a large pan on a low heat and warm it for a few minutes. Add all the spices and juices, turn the heat up and bring to the boil. Turn the heat down again and simmer for 5-8 minutes.
Add sugar to your taste and serve warm.
