Today at 17:30 at La Noceda Cider Bar of Gascona there will be the presentation of the Apple Tonic, a new cider cocktail of cider liquor and tonic.
THE CIDER.- The presentation will be made during the master class organized by chefs and waiters of the cider bars from Gascona. It will be managed by Nacho Capín and is promoted by the cider mill Casería San Juan del Obispo and the association of restaurants of Gascona.
Nacho Cuevas Capín is known in many environmnets as the Ferrán Adriá of cocktails in recognition to the creativity of many of his cocktails and his passion for profession and his know how adter more than a decade of professional exercise with the prize to the best cocktail-maker of Asturies and the best gin tonic.
The aged cider liquor by Salvador del Obispo is a direct distilled from 100% natural Asturian cider. Cider exclusive from Casería San Juan del Obispo that is distilled still slow (under 80º C), which allows to reach the most subtle and volatile alcohols as the most powerful aromatic elements: the soul of cider. The fresh and pure distilled is then put in oak casks and lays there maturing and aging for 9 years. No substance is added and then it is corked with the resulting alcoholic degree of its own aging: 42’5% of alcohol. It has an ambarine color, bright and clean, with roasted scent, taste of vanilla and sublte and fine alcohols. In mouth it has a light shank taste as well as mature apple, applesauce, slightly sweet, balsamic, balanced and elegant.
With this presentation Gascona establishes itself as a meeting point for experimentation in the cider world and continues to support the Asturian companies and professional’s work around this beverage.
