This Saturday, 3rd of september, took place in Villaviciosa the Cider Party, that as always succeeded regarding the people attendance, for whose the town hall square was too small.
The party started with a speech by Manolo Preciado, the coach of the Sporting of Xixón football team and then, as is usual in this kind of parties there was a popular tasting, for what you could purchase the official glass they gave you with what you were given a card with the cider presses' scores. The winner was Sidra Cortina, and at the cider pourers contest the winner was Loreto García. There were also some folk performances with the Torner Quartet, a gastronomic popular tasting and the Nicer Cider Label Awards, at which the winner among all the ciders presented, was Sidra Vigón.
There were eleven the cider presses participating in the Villaviciosa's Cider Party: -Buznego, Castañón, Cortina, El Gobernador, El Traviesu, Frutos, Los Gemelos, M. Busto, Tomás, Vallina and Vigón- who colaborate by giving altogether 600 cider cases, or what is the same, 7.000 cider bottles.
