LA SIDRA joins the support campaign to the company Sidra El Gaiteru and their workers. Demarcation of Coasts claims as public domain the terrain on which the factory is.
The last demarcation of coasts refered to the Villaviciosa's ria, made by Demarcation of Coasts, affects the terrain on which the factory is located and the main facilities of the company in Villaviciosa, considering the historical lands of Sidra El Gaiteru as public domain, overridng the property of Valle Ballina y Fernández and demanding the company to close or move its production.
From LA SIDRA we ask them to use the common sense in a case like this, in which is clear that are facilities that poses no treat for the environment or the coast. Furthermore, the El Gaiteru facilities are amply consolidated facilities - since 1860- and very important, both historical and economic, for the council, so we ask the authorities that the common benefit considerations prevail in this case over a totally dogmatic and general application of the law.
