LA SIDRA and the Grupu Trabanco represented Asturies in the Apfelwein im Römer, held in Frankfurt this past weekend, with a strong presence of professionals from the sector.

Of outstanding participation must be described the Asturian participation in the Apfelwein im Römer held last week, in which LA SIDRA presented la Primer Sidre l’Añu (First Cider of the Year) and brought the audience to the Asturian cider reality (virtually unknown), initiated contacts with cidermakers, and different important figures from the international cider world, among which we should emphasize the importance and interest shown towards Asturian cider, Eric Bordelet.
Furthermore, contacts with the Society of Welsh Cider and Perry were deepened, so that is almost assured the presence of the Asturian cider in the next International Cider Festival, which will be held in August this year.
For its part, the Grupu Trabanco, raised an important expectation since this is the first cider winery form the Spanish State participating in the event, as observed by the mayor of Frankfurt, Petra Roth, in his visit to the Trabanco stand. In this visit, she inquired about the importance of pouring in the Asturian cider and the certificate of quality from the Sidre d’Escoyeta (Cider Selection). In her conversation with Samuel M. Trabanco, the Trabanco Grupu manager, Petra Roth stressed the projection of the Asturian cider and encouraged the Grupu Trabanco to include German as a priority market for his international expansion. In fact, that Asturian cider winery was elected by the organization to release the Spanish State presence at the event, in which were already involved cider wineries from Canada, Switzerland, France, UK, Finland and Japan. The participation of the Grupo Trabanco caught the attention of German media, who opened their reports highlighting the presence of the Asturian cider winery (see footage broadcast on television HR).
